ABOUT THE CATALINA 426

The Catalina 426 is a new addition to the Catalina line, inheriting the legacy of the legendary Catalina 42 while introducing contemporary styling and modern functionality. Designed to embody the enduring qualities of Catalina tradition, the 426 combines luxury and practicality, making it the ideal choice for both cruising enthusiasts and offshore adventurers.

Below deck, the Catalina 426 offers a modern and luxurious interior designed for comfort and convenience. Abundant natural light and ventilation flood through numerous opening ports and hatches, while angled wood companionway steps ensure safe and easy access. The L-shaped galley to port provides ample storage, with Corian bench tops and wood trims offering plenty of space for food preparation. Moving forward through the salon is safe and easy, thanks to full-length steel grab handles within easy reach. The expertly crafted varnished teak interior exudes elegance and sophistication, with signature bench seats that convert to a full-length settee and plush seating around the folding high-gloss dinette. The teak and holly laminate floor provide a traditional look, adding to the yacht’s allure. Additionally, the centrally located water and fuel tanks ensure stability, particularly in rough seas.

The master forward cabin features a queen-sized island berth with abundant storage, while the en suite head offers a separate shower stall and a modern, upmarket feel. The port aft cabin features a unique convertible sea berth for extra storage and provides easy access to the steering assembly and through-hull fittings. The starboard aft cabin offers practical access to a dedicated filters cabinet, making fuel changes and filter cleaning hassle-free. Inner spring mattresses come standard in all cabins, ensuring a comfortable night’s sleep on the open sea.

On deck, the Catalina 426 boasts a spacious and well-designed cockpit with generous seating and a cleverly designed sunbed, perfect for relaxing in style and comfort. High-backed seats provide maximum safety and comfort for the whole family, while the cockpit table incorporates useful grab rails and can be clad in teak with an electric fridge to keep drinks and snacks cool during hot summer days. The stylish Edson steering pods for the twin helms keep the area clean and uncluttered, allowing easy access to the walk-through transom or optional swim deck.

All control lines are led aft to the companionway winches, with excess rope cleverly stowed in a central rope bin in the cockpit sole. The mainsheet is doubled-ended, allowing control from both the companionway and the port genoa winch, ideal for short-handed sailing. The inboard chainplates allow for tighter genoa sheeting when not using the self-tacking jib, while the deep anchor well with a useful divider keeps the area tidy. The double anchor roller also allows for the use of a downwind asymmetrical sail to maximize the sailing experience.

Whether you’re seeking a weekend adventurer or a capable offshore cruiser, the multi-award-winning Catalina 426 will take you there in unparalleled comfort and safety. Experience luxury sailing at its finest with the Catalina 426, now available in Australia.
