IY 16.98
Endless pleasure, pure and simple
In the design of the Italia Yachts 16.98, the tradition of the great ocean-going fast cruisers is reborn and updated with the latest hydrodynamics. The Italia Yachts 16.98 is a blue-water cruiser, conceived to travel long distances while combining performance, comfort, and timeless style, with the guarantee of safe arrival even under the harshest conditions. The Italia Yachts 16.98 is a complete all-rounder that delivers the performance you would expect from a fast cruiser. The yacht features classic and original lines, is easy to sail, even with a family crew and is perfect for enjoying long cruises.
The deck layout is reminiscent of a maxi-yacht, allowing for expansive areas free of equipment. The IY 16.98 offers a separate cockpit area, wide side decks, and large areas for sunbathing. All equipment is of the highest quality, starting from the perfectly sized winches for jib and mainsail trim. All winches can be electrically powered. Behind the wheels, a flat and clear surface can be fully allocated for sunbathing area with easy access to the cockpit shower and swim deck.
Italia Yachts has placed a strong emphasis on the coachroof design of their latest boat. The portholes are designed with a unique flair, and the different levels of the coachroof create a sense of movement throughout the boat’s profile. The coaming grid adds an exclusive touch, hiding other portholes from view. The coachroof is designed to allow for the storage of the sprayhood and all the lines, which are run recessed up to the winches. The central area of the coachroof is perfect for sunbathing, while the jib tracks are positioned on each side with adjustments sent back to the cockpit for optimal line angles. All hatches are flush with the deck, creating a smooth and sleek surface. The anchor is housed on a steel bow roller, with the slightly angled bow aiding in the anchoring operation. A bowsprit can also be supplied, as well as a pivoting system that hides the whole anchor arm. Additionally, the through deck headsail furler and foldable mooring cleats further enhance the tidiness and clean lines of the boat’s design.
Italia Yachts offers a range of different layouts for this model. Ranging from two to four cabins, large aft cabin owners versions and separate crew cabin in the bow with sink and head. The styling of the interiors is clean and linear, with coated surfaces in natural wood alternating with white lacquered parts to ensure maximum brightness while maintaining a warm and cosy atmosphere. Polished steel is used for detailed elements throughout the interior. Handholds are numerous, and the spaces between the furniture are never too large, with a total absence of sharp edges to ensure safety even when sailing with high heeling angles. The shipyard also offers customisation of furniture, materials, finishes, and layouts to suit the preferences and needs of individual clients.
