Performance Cruising Yachts & Sydney By Sail’s Yacht Share programs are the culmination of 27 years of experience sharing Sydney Harbour by sail. In today’s newsletter, we debunk the myths of Yacht Share. Live the dream –  become a part owner of a luxury yacht to enjoy a full life. 


“Yacht Share is economical” – TRUE!
A main barrier to entry for budding yachties is the cost behind owning a yacht. With Yacht Share, costs are split amongst owners, maximising the fun and minimising the cost. Our Management Fee covers ALL running costs of boat ownership – even fuel, berthing, insurance and detailing! At the end of the 3 year term, the boat is sold and you can estimate an R.O.I. of 65% – 75% of the cost of your share.


“I have to share my time onboard with others” – FALSE!
While costs are shared, usage is not. A 10% owner gets to enjoy 33 days of EXCLUSIVE use a year, for 3 years. What to do with those 33 days? Well, Sydney Harbour and its surrounds are your playground. With easy access to not only one, but TWO massive waterways (Pittwater & Sydney Harbour), the possibilities for adventure are endless. 


“I have to be certified to buy a share” – FALSE
We provide a complimentary sail training package to all new owners designed to make even the newest of sailors feel competent, confident and certified prior to syndicate commencement. Owners also have access to Sydney By Sail skippers at discounted rates, allowing ongoing training for anyone who is keen!


“I have to compete to get my chosen dates” – FALSE!

Our 24/7 online booking system is complemented by an Owners Wishlist that each owner fills out prior to each trimester. Any date elected by an owner that is UNCONTESTED results in the owner getting the date allocated to their calendar PRIOR to the trimester going live. The rest of the dates are easily booked using our online booking system when the calendar goes live. 


“I can take my yacht out of Sydney Harbour” – TRUE!

As an owner, you have complete control over what you do with your asset. Some popular adventures are:
  • Up the coast to Pittwater to explore the Hawksbury, 
  • Through the Spit Bridge to Middle Harbour.
  • Whale watching voyages off the coast of Sydney.
